Character History: Alex once was a normal college student: a young man who enjoyed friendship, drinking, and attempting to finish essays before deadline. During his free time he spent time with his friends and working on a movie project called Marble Hornets. He worked on a script with Jay, an old college buddy of his and gathered the actors almost completely by himself. But once he began his project that he had been striving to make something woke up.
The series really began when Alex woke up and looked out one of his windows to see someone or something standing on his porch. When it looked towards him the thing didn’t appear to have a face. Once encounter with the thing started to increase more and more as time went on. Sometimes the thing would be quite a distance away others it would be way to close for comfort. It caused Alex to become increasingly paranoid and frightened of his surroundings.
He started to become more aggressive as time moved on. At first he was just a bit snippy towards his actors on set but later on showed signs of being violent. A perfect example: Tim led Alex to an old abandoned hospital. While looking in rooms Alex became increasingly tense. Once Tim was distracted Alex grabbed a pipe and hit him as hard as he could then left Tim there. Once it became darker out Alex went to finish the job only to find that Tim had moved.
Finally Alex became to paranoid to stay in the same town. He transferred to a school out of state and began packing to leave once he cancelled the production of ‘Marble Hornets’. Just a couple days before Alex was to leave he received an unwanted visitor: Jay. Jay began to ask Alex what he was planning on doing with the tapes he had used in production. “Burn them.”- Jay began to complain to them about the tapes going to waste until finally Alex caved. He gave them the tapes and watched Jay leave towards his car. After a moment Alex made a split second decision and attacked Jay.
The next day he was gone and he didn’t bother to contact Jay for three years.
That was until his girlfriend Amy found his old camera in one of their closets. Alex had attempted to act like it was nothing, hoping that if they stopped prying they could continue to live a normal life. He was wrong. As soon as Amy turned around to put it away that thing appeared putting Amy into a panic. Alex led her out of the window and promised to be right behind her right before the camera went off.
